Mothers Day

Happy Mothers day to all our wonderful moms. May you get the chance to watch your babies grow into wonderful, contributing adults. Mothers Day today has been bittersweet since I spent it with my mom. But I felt so so much for the one mother that gave birth to someone I loved so completely. Today must have been so hard on her. I struggled to choke back tears when I called her to tell her I was thinking of her. That's as personal as I will get on a public blog but I would never wish the loss of a child on anyone. It's so unnatural and awful. It really goes against the laws of nature. How do you make sense of it? Is it really that her soul was ready for it, as I've been pondering so much? Was my soul ready for it? We had no choice so they sure as hell had to have been. Goes to show that holidays have their light and dark sides.

Dispatch reminded me of how hard it must be to be a mother:
"He said: I have seen the others, and I have discovered that this fight is not worth fighting. I have seen their mothers and I will no other to follow me where I'm going"

A little out of left field, but to add another dimension, if we just thought about everyone's mothers and what pain we would cause them if we went to war with their child, would the world be different?
