Is it so wrong to dream about things I want to cook and eat?
...as a little study break?
After my half ironman in october, Bri said she'd make me a really yummy but fatty pasta that she loves. And I think I'll make myself and my roommates a german chocolate cake afterwards. For a celebration!
Tea poached salmon with fennel salad?
homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream?
French women don't get fat. Maybe we should all bring out the French in us (do I have any in me, is the question?) and enjoy our food more! It's such a treat but sometimes so hard to tell ourselves that there WILL be more tomorrow.
and speaking of French...one of my favorite movies, Julie and Julia. Still need to read the book.

Style: Pearls
I am usually good at reminding myself that things don't make you happy. I have been at my happiest when I was completely broke, unable to even scrounge up a few euros to buy an espresso in Spain when I was studying there. However, this ring is just so beautiful and perfect. Pearls in general are timeless and classic. I love the scene in Julie and Julia (the true story about a woman who cooks everyone of Julia Child's recipes in her French cookbook) where Julie's adorable husband gives her a string of pearls for her birthday because that was what Julia Child always wore. I have a long string of pearls that was my mom's that I love because each one is a different shape and shade of pink. A pearl on a ring seems so quintessentially elegant.
